Government of India has agreed to give pension option as per the settlement of 2010 to the left over categories of retirees like compulousarily retired employees VRS optees etc.
About 6000 past retirees will be benefited by this decision.

  2. It is surprising that no such letter or reference No. of Finance Ministry is available on any blog, authenticating that the Ministry has given directions to IBA for extending benefit of pension to left over retirees. In case the said reference is available, the same should be published on the source website of the union who claims for the authentication of the news. With regards.

  3. It is being heard today that no such letter has been received by IBA in the matter.I am not able to figure out what the facts are, because every few hours the affected retirees are being fed with 'latest news' about the so called clearance. Let those who sent the SMS/ emails now inform all as to what the factual position is. Even if the msgs were from an unauthentic source, they owe an answer to retirees to give a clarification;instead of simply sitting quiet over it.

  4. By now everyone is aware that the Circular dated 13.07.2012 issued by the All India Bank Retirees Federation on the “Pension to the Leftover” stands withdrawn from their website. We are sure they will come out with their reasons for such a faux pas.

It was on 18th July 2012 before the Hon’ble Chief Labour Commissioner (Central), New Delhi UFBU Leaders and IBA met and the decision for withdrawal of the Strike call of 25th/26th was made.

It was at this meeting IBA had presented its comments on the demands of Strike Call which is QUOTED BELOW. The relevant portion on the denial of Pension appears on the 3rd Page of the IBA ‘s submission.

    QUOTE:
    (V) ISSUES ARISING OUT OF PENSION SETTLEMENT/JOINT NOTE DATED 27.04.2010.

WITH REGARD TO THE DENIAL OF PENSION OPTION TO PERSONS OPTED UNDER VRS/RESIGNED EMPLOYEES WE ARE TO STATE THAT WHILE FINALIZING THE DRAFT OF PENSION SETTLEMENT/JOINT NOTE JOINTLY WITH THE UNIONS/ASSOCIATIONS, A THREADBARE DISCUSSION WAS HELD AND A FINALITY WAS ARRIVED AT MUTUALLY AS TO WHO ARE ALL TO BE COVERED UNDER SECOND PENSION OPTION. THE CATEGORIES OF EMPLOYEES MENTIONED IN THE UFBU LETTER ARE NOT ELIGIBLE FOR SECOIND OPTION IN THE TERMS OF THE PROVISION OF THE JHOINT SETTLEMENT/JOINT NOTE. IT IS NOT FAIR ON THE PART OF THE UNIONS/ASSOCIATIONS WHO ARE PARTIES TO SETTLEMENT/JOINT NOTE TO CHALLENGE THE PROVISIONS OF THE SAME.

    17TH JULY 2012.
    MUMBAI CHIEF EXECUTIVE, IBA.

    UNQUOTE.

Please go through it and understand that no (NONE) so called UFBU Leaders informed all those who were expectantly wanting to hear the good news from IBA side after the spate of Circulars/SMS and telephonic calls went around about the Pension to the “Left Overs”.

This clears the IBA stand on the issue and the hopes and aspiration of many seems dashed at least for the present.

Indeed it is a sad story only adding salt to the injury of already wounded PF Optees. It has been a cruel joke played on the sentiments of all those who were denied Pension in the 2nd Pension Option.

May God bestow some semblance of sanity to these decision makers and the Leaders who play with the lives of those who saved the Country from the Global Economic Crisis but now are left to fend for themselves.

  5. In circular dated 01/06/2010 AIBOC while issuing pension booklet has said at Page No 12, Clause No 17 as under:-
    RESIGNEES:-
'The present option does not include Resignees as per Pension regulation 22 of Chapter II "Resignation or dismissal or termination of an employee from the service shall entail forfeiture of his entire service and consequently shall not qualify for pension"
We have taken up the matter with IBA for amendment to the pension regulation act 1995, to cover resignees who had put in pensionable service for the purpose of 2 nd option(Copy of our communication annexed).
IBA has not said anything about such letter written by AIBOC

  6. By their communication dt 25.07.2012, Ministry of Finance has advised IBA to rescind their addition of ‘on superannuation’ and ask Banks to, offer pension-option to all ‘retirees’ as per settlement. It is clear that the then officials of IBA, who had RESIGNED from their Banks, to take up Chairmanship of other Banks and had been allowed pension option, should be made to bear the entire cost of the writs forced on the hapless retirees. They should pay the expenses, now charged to tax-payers’ money, and reimburse the costs incurred by both IBA and the plaintiffs, as it is due to their folly and obstinacy, untold misery has been inflicted upon the Senior Citizens, and several of them have died due to shock and despair.

  7. Basic question is, whether the news about the communication dated 25.7.12 from the Ministry of Finance to IBA is genuine.

  8. Can anyone kindly let me know what is the present status on this? Is there any hope for the VR employees to get the second option for pension? This is a very cruel joke which has just added to our injuries. It is an injustice.
